Everyone wants to know the Future of Android. Android Mobile Operating System began with the release of the Android Alpha in November 2007. The first commercial version was published in September which was Android 1.0. Later on, in February 2009, version 1.1 was launched. Its API level was 2. Since then Android continued to make updates.

Until now, Marshmallow is the latest version of Android. Nougat in an upcoming version which will be released in August or September 2015. Like Oxygen, it has become a necessary part of the broader Google technology system. No one exactly knows the Future of Android. Let’s take a discussion here.

Google has copied 37 of the Java Interfaces, also known as APIs. Google has made it easier for people who knew Java. Its reason is that people write applications for Android. It has created a big problem. One of its engineers wrote to chief executive that the company should negotiate a license for using Java because other options are not valid. The courts have already ordered that copyrights cover the Java APIs. Google’s hopes now hang on the defense. They hope that it was “fair use” for it to take the code anyway. At its developer conference some weeks ago, Google made clear that it still has expansive plans for Android. Google has big aims in virtual reality. It will affect the Future of Android.

VR Headset:

Google is also giving attention to VR headset for the perfect Future of Android. Virtual reality has made a surprising comeback. It is due to the projects like Google Cardboard and the Oculus Rift. It looks to be more than just a trend.

Project Tango is also an amazing technology. Project Tango is coming out of the lab and into actual consumer products soon. Multiple brands are launching Tango-enabled phones this year. This technology could be used not just to create cool-looking 3D maps but could have practical apps too. Android Auto has been gaining steam with expansions into new vehicles this year. Google’s OS is growing strongest in emerging markets & places like India, China, and South American.

Google is going global by building for billions of Android cell phones. App Store earns almost double the revenue as does Google Play despite half the number of app downloads. Nick Butcher is one of the major evangelists for Material Design, which is highlighted notably in his Android app Plaid Its Material Design is improving time to time. He will lead the first session. Android’s battery life is also increasing by the introduction of Doze feature. Its goal is to reduce the size of an app’s apk.

Google Maps:

Apps do not hang and do not effect on battery. Apple’s Maps app may not have set the world alight when it launched. Recently Google Maps updates have brought with them a greater level of customization based on your personal search.

Messaging:

The messages will live in the cloud. It means that they can be pushed from an Android phone to Android Wear watch to an Android TV and a car with Android Auto. It will be a unified messaging system.
